Mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain in upcoming storm
A mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain is in the forecast for northern New England.
The storm was expected to start late Wednesday and last through Friday.
In Vermont, the National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch, with 8 to 13 inches of snow possible in the northern and central parts of the state.
Less snowfall was expected in Maine and New Hampshire. In the central and southern parts of the state, it’s expected to mix with rain, sleet and freezing rain on Thursday. The weather service estimated 4 to 6 inches of snow in northern Maine, and 2 to 3 inches elsewhere and in much of New Hampshire.
The weather service said high temperatures will range from the mid-teens across western Maine and northern New Hampshire the mid-30s across the coastal plain.
The forecast was enough to postpone New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu’s scheduled State of the State address and the House session from Thursday to Feb. 13.
