Bay Area Christian vs.

Geneva School of Boerne

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Where: Buffalo Stadium, Giddings

Records: BAC 9-3, GSB 9-3

The skinny: The Broncos look to continue their torrid pace in this TAPPS Division III state semifinal.

Bay Area Christian has won nine consecutive games since a 55-26 loss to the The Woodlands Cooper on Sept. 14.

The setback represented the last of three straight losses to start the season for Bay Area, which has obviously righted the ship and built momentum.

The Broncos enter this matchup off a 34-14 win over Texas School For The Deaf. Earlier this season, Geneva defeated TSD, 44-13.

Geneva School of Boerne has won eight consecutive games, including last week’s 47-19 win over The Woodlands Christian Academy. Earlier this season, the Broncos defeated The Woodlands Christian Academy by a 14-6 score.

Against another common opponent, Lutheran North, the Broncos won 41-14 while Geneva downed the Lions, 63-7.

Against a fourth common opponent, Schertz John Paul, the Broncos won 48-7 while Geneva defeated the Guardians, 49-6.

The winner of this game will play either Willow Park Trinity Christian (9-3) or Flower Mound Coram Deo (11-1) next week in the Division III state championship game.

Earlier this season, Willow Park gave Flower Mound Coram Deo its only loss, 20-14.

Shadow Creek vs.

When: 1 p.m., Saturday

Where: Merrill Green Stadium, Bryan

Records: Shadow Creek 12-0, Georgetown 9-3

The skinny: The Sharks look to continue the success of their inaugural varsity season when they take on a talented Georgetown team in this Class 5A Division I regional semifinal.

Last week, head coach Brad Butler’s team took a hard-fought 21-14 win over Cedar Park to keep its unbeaten season intact. Shadow Creek opened its playoff schedule with a come-from-behind 37-30 win over New Caney Porter.

Georgetown has also posted two tough playoff victories, opening the postseason with a 21-6 triumph over Seguin before taking a wild 35-32 win over New Caney this past week.

The Eagles’ only losses this year - all in a row -- were to playoff teams Stephenville, Hutto and Cedar Park. Georgetown hasn’t lost since Oct. 12, winning six straight.

The Eagles play in the difficult District 11-5A, which includes Hutto and Cedar Park.

Shadow Creek plays in the equally tough District 10-5A, which still has Richmond Foster remaining in the playoffs.

In fact, the winner of this game will take on the winner of Hutto and Foster in the Region III championship next week.
