Florence firefighters respond to house fire

FLORENCE, S.C. – Fire heavily damaged a vacant home Monday morning in north Florence. No injuries were reported.

At 5:30 a.m., Florence firefighters were dispatched to the 600 Stonehenge Lane for a reported house fire. Upon arriving, firefighters found an unoccupied home heavily involved in fire.

Firefighters were able to control the fire in approximately 20 minutes, but they were on the scene for almost two hours as they handled hot spots and completied extinguishment.

The Florence Fire Department responded with three engine companies, a ladder company and a command officer.

A cause has not been determined, and the fire is under investigation.
