Festival of Trees: General Butler State Resort Park will host the annual Festival of Trees display in the lodge from Dec. 3 through Dec. 31. Tour the Mansion: Schenck Mansion Bed & Breakfast, 206 W. Turnpike St. Vevay, will open its doors for tours for the holidays. Tours will be given at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Dec. 22, 23, 27 and 29. Tours typically last an hour and are $5 per person. Tours will include information on the history of the house, the Schenck family and past owners, furnishings, restorations and the grounds. For more information, call (812) 427-2787.

Court Street Cinemas: Will screen Roald Dahl’s “The BFG” at 2 p.m. at the Carroll County Public Library. The film is rated PG. Hanover Zoning Board of Appeals: Will meet at 5 p.m. in the Hanover Community Center, 200 Spruce Lane. Jefferson County Merit Board Meeting: The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department will hold its monthly merit board meeting at 5:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month in the commissioner’s office at the Jefferson County Courthouse. The meeting was rescheduled from Dec. 6. Hanover Town Council: Will meet at 6 p.m. at the Hanover Community Center, 200 Spruce Lane, Hanover.

Court Street Cinemas: Will screen “Kubo and the Two Strings” at 2 p.m. at the Carroll County Public Library. The film is rated PG. Movie Time: The Jefferson County Public Library Madison branch will host an interactive screening of “Frozen” at 2 p.m. with crafts and singing. Hot cocoa will be provided.. The film is rated PG. Pathfinders - Rune Lords: Meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Carroll County Public Library to play. Parks Board: Will meet at 5:30 p.m. on the last Wednesday of the month at Madison City Hall.

Court Street Cinemas: Will screen “Storks” at 2 p.m. at the Carroll County Public Library. The film is rated PG13.

Court Street Cinemas: Will screen “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children” at 2 p.m. at the Carroll County Public Library. The film is rated PG. PHDs: Set aside time at 2 p.m. to work on “Projects - Half Done” at the Carroll County Public Library. This is a good program for beginners as there is assistance available. Senior Dance: The Madison Parks Department will host a dance featuring the music of the Paul Boggs Band at 6 p.m. at the Brown Gym. Doors open at 5 p.m. Admission is $4. Noon Year’s Eve Party: Ring in the new year a little early as the Jefferson County Public Library counts down to noon at the Madison branch. There will be confetti and a toast to the new year. All ages are welcome. Fish Fry: The Dupont Lancaster Township Fire Department will host a fish fry from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Dupont Fire House, 10641 Reynolds Road, Dupont. Movie Time: The Jefferson County Public Library Madison branch will host a screening of “Kubo and the Two Strings” at 2 p.m. with popcorn and drinks provided. The film is rated PG and the runtime is 101 minutes. Doctor! Doctor!: General Butler State Resort Park in Carrollton will once again host a New Year’s Eve celebration with dinner, a short play, music and dancing. Doors open at 6 p.m., dinner is at 7 p.m., the play “Doctor! Doctor!” starts at 8 p.m. and music from the Walnut Street Rhythm Band will close out the night from 9 p.m. on, with a balloon drop at midnight. The show is for those age 21 and older.
