Man Jumps to Death From Balcony at Disneyland Hotel
ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) _ A guest at the Disneyland Hotel fell to his death from a ninth-floor balcony in what officials called the first suicide at the theme park.
Police identified the man as Joachim Chi Tu, 75, of Santa Ana. He was carrying one note in English and another in Chinese, asking authorities to contact a relative, said Disneyland spokeswoman Jonna Bartges.
Tu was pronounced dead at the scene Friday, a day after he checked into the hotel. Bartges said it was the first suicide that officials knew about at Disneyland, which opened in 1955.
