BOSTON (AP) — A Wilbraham family is thanking the people of South Boston for the outpouring of support they have received since the stabbing death of their daughter.

The body of Amy Lord was found in a park in the city's Hyde Park neighborhood on July 23.

The 24-year-old Lord grew up in Wilbraham, graduated from Bentley College, and moved to South Boston when she got a job with a digital media company.

The family said in a letter posted to South Boston Online that she found the same small town values in Southie as she had grown up with and "loved everything" about the community.

The family thanked the people of South Boston for their "solidarity and connection" and for "embracing" Amy.

A 28-year-old Boston man has been charged with murder.
