SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City is says two former priests who were removed from their posts years ago after credible reports of sexual abuse.

Diocese spokeswoman Jean Hill said Friday in a news release that the alleged abused by former priests Raymond Devlin and Edward J. Konat occurred in the 1980s but were reported to church officials in 1990 and 2002.

Hill says Utah’s child protective services were made aware in 2002 but neither resulted in criminal charges.

Hill says Devlin was ousted in 1990 after working 13 years at a church and Catholic high school in Ogden. Devlin died in 2011.

She says Konat worked at several churches in the diocese from 1983-1985, when he left Utah and was expelled by the Jesuits. It’s unknown where Konat lives and no listed phone number could be found.
