Blackfoot’s Pearson released by Green Bay Packers
Blackfoot native Colby Pearson was cut Monday by the Green Bay Packers. Pearson, who played wide receiver at Blackfoot High School and BYU, was one of 12 wideouts on Green Bay’s roster and was released with two other players.
Pearson was not selected in April’s seven-round NFL Draft but was signed by Green Bay on June 1. Pearson did not play in the team’s first three preseason games.
The Packers must trim their roster to 53 players by Sept. 2. There are currently 87 players on the roster, including Pocatello native and BYU alumnus Taysom Hill.
Green Bay’s final preseason game is Thursday against the Los Angeles Rams at home.
