Film Hot Ticket: ‘The Room’ stars debut new thriller nationwide
“Best F(r)iends,” a new dark comedy thriller starring Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sestero, is scheduled to debut in select movie theaters nationwide Friday and Monday at 8 p.m.
The movie reunites the actors for the first time since their performance in 2003 cult film “The Room.” The two also are known as the main characters in Sestero’s co-authored book “ The Disaster Artist,” which recently became an Oscar-nominated film.
The debuting movie follows a drifter and a mortician who come together to create an underground enterprise but are soon driven apart by greed and jealousy. A Southwestern expedition ensues when the drifter takes off with their spoils, a journey that teaches both men a lesson in friendship and loyalty along the way.
Daniel Platzman, drummer for Imagine Dragons, created the musical score for “Best F(r)iends.” The movie is rated R and its runtime is two hours. A second installment of the film, “Best F(r)iends: Volume Two,” is set for a similar debut June 1 and 4 at 8 p.m.
Tickets to the films are available for purchase online at fathomevents.com or at participating box offices. Theaters in Utah County showing the new movies include Cinemark 16 Provo, 1200 Town Center Blvd., Provo, and Cinemark University Mall, 1010 S. 800 East, Orem.
