DeLauro to lead town hall meeting Wednesday in Milford
MILFORD — On Wednesday, May 10, at 6 p.m., U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-3) will visit Jonathan Law High School in Milford to lead a town hall-style forum on President Donald Trump’s tax plan. DeLauro will offer brief remarks at the start of the event and will then hear directly from constituents.
Doors will open at 5:30 PM and the session will begin at 6.
“President Trump’s tax plan would consolidate tax brackets to make the tax code less progressive, slash the corporate tax rate to 15 percent, make it easier for multinational corporations to shift their profits overseas, repeal the estate tax, and repeal some taxes on investment income,” DeLauro said. “All of this comes as President Trump refuses to release his own tax returns, leaving Americans to guess the many benefits he, his family, and his corporation will receive under this plan.”
Others who will be there to help answer questions include Brandon DeBot, tax policy fellow at the Center for Budget Policy and Priorities and Ed Deak, board member and the Connecticut forecast manager for the New England Economic Partnership.
