Mark Ingram offered encouragement to Alabama phenom Tua Tagovailoa at Sugar Bowl
A lot of college football fans were blown away by Tua Tagovailoa bringing Alabama back from the brink to win the national championship on Monday night.
Not Mark Ingram.
Ingram, who remains heavily involved with Alabama football and makes it to any game he can, remembered seeing the freshman sling it for the first time back in April.
“I saw him play in the spring game,” Ingram said. “I kind of knew what we had back there.”
Ingram had also offered some words of encouragement to Tagovailoa the week before the national title game.
The Saints running back was on the sidelines for Alabama’s Sugar Bowl win over Clemson, and he took the time to offer a little encouragement to Tagovailoa.
Ingram reminded the quarterback of those words on Tuesday, after Tagovailoa’s brilliant performance in relief of Jalen Hurts.
“I just told him to keep working, keep grinding,” Ingram said. “I’d heard he had a great future.”
