Local Shopko pharmacy to be sold to Kroger
GREEN BAY -- Shopko Stores Operating Co., LLC announced Tuesday it has entered an agreement with Kroger to sell a select number of its pharmacy locations to Kroger, including the pharmacy at the Shopko at 701 S. Church St. in Watertown.
“Shopko will sell 42 of its current 227 pharmacy locations across the U.S., while the main stores and optical centers remain open and will continue to service customers,” a media release from Shopko stated.
The sale includes 25 of Shopko’s 72 pharmacy locations in Wisconsin.
For the customers affected by the 25 pharmacy locations closing in Wisconsin, Kroger is offering its pharmacy services at Pick ‘n Save, Copps and Metro Market stores operated by Kroger’s Roundy’s Division. This includes the Pick ‘n’ Save on South Church Street in Watertown.
“The remaining Shopko pharmacy location closures that impact customers in Utah, Nebraska, Idaho, Washington and Montana will be serviced through Kroger banners,” the media release stated.
