Cabell County Schools seeks input on calendars
HUNTINGTON — Cabell County Schools is seeking public input as it plans out its school year calendars for both the 2019-20 and the 2020-21 school years.
The proposed calendars, which can be found at www.cabellschools.com under the “Calendar” tab at the line “2019-2020 Proposed Calendar,” have been developed with input from administrators, teachers, parents and service personnel who have already been meeting to discuss various options.
“The committee has decided on a different approach this year. Rather than creating multiple calendars to consider, we have developed one draft calendar and are now seeking input from students, parents, staff and community members,” Lenora Richardson, director of quality assurance and assessment for Cabell County Schools, said in a news release. “Our committee will use that input to refine the calendars before the board conducts public hearings and adopts a final version.”
The page also answers frequently asked questions and has a link to the online survey, which is open to the public.
Richardson said as updates are made to the calendars, revised versions will be posted to the district’s website, www.cabellschools.com.
A link on the website also directs users to a Survey Monkey feedback form where everyone will be able to submit their input about any changes they would like.
A “frequently asked questions” document on the page explains some of the guidelines and other items that must be taken into consideration for the school calendar.
Notice of the first public hearing will be placed in The Herald-Dispatch, and will be announced on the school district’s website in the coming weeks.
