Harrison police warn residents to secure cars after thefts from unlocked vehicles

June 28, 2018 GMT

Harrison police again are reminding residents to be sure their cars outside are locked at night.

Several unlocked cars were entered along Pennsylvania and Harvard avenues in the Natrona Heights area of the township before sunrise Thursday morning, police Chief Mike Klein said.

Police knew of up to seven cars that had been entered. Only unlocked cars were entered.

The perpetrators rummaged through the cars, looking for things such as cash, change or device chargers — anything that could be taken quickly.

Klein said police were working to get video from a resident’s surveillance system, but did not yet have any images to provide a description of the person or persons entering the cars.

Anyone with information can reach Harrison police at 724-224-3355.
