Traxler and Steiner move on in Columbus race

Andy Traxler and Paula M. Steiner will face each other to represent District 3 on the Columbus City Council.

Incumbent Traxler received 74 votes, in the primary Tuesday, while Steiner, a challenger, garnered 46. Fellow challenger Ben Davis received 43 votes. Traxler and Steiner will move on to the spring election April 3.

In the race for Columbia County Circuit Court Judge, Branch 3, Brenda Yaskal received 178 votes; Troy Cross picked up 130, followed by Steven Sarbacker (96) and Clifford Burdon (71).

For Justice of the Supreme Court, Rebecca Dallet had 223 votes, followed by Michael Screnock (193) and Tim Burns (120).

According to City Clerk Megan Moen, 19.4 percent of registered voters in the city of Columbus turned out for Tuesday’s spring primary.
