Biden Daughter’s Charges Dropped

CHICAGO (AP) _ Authorities dropped misdemeanor charges against the 21-year-old daughter of Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del., on Tuesday after she apologized for obstructing a police officer.

According to police, Ashley Blazer Biden was with a group of people Aug. 3 outside a number of bars when someone else threw a bottle at a police officer. Police say she blocked an officer trying to investigate.

Jerry Lawrence, a spokesman for prosecutors, said charges against Ashley Biden and two others were dropped after they apologized in court. He said the defendants were also admonished by the judge.
