Tree ceremony to honor Summit County homicide victims

AKRON, Ohio – The 24th Angel Tree Ceremony, hosted by the Victim Assistance Program, is scheduled for 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 3 in the auditorium of the Akron-Summit County Public Library, 60 South High Street.

The ceremony will honor the more than 900 victims of homicide in Summit County over the past 24 years.

The ceremony is open to the public. Friends and family of homicide victims are invited to place an angel ornament on one of the trees on display. Friends and family of victims may also submit a 5-inch by 7-inch picture of their loved one to be included on the Wall of Remembrance by calling Victim Assistance Program at 330-376-0040.

The Angel Trees and the Wall of Remembrance will be on display at the Akron-Summit County Public Library throughout December.
