Peoria council to meet in closed session on police, fire labor negotiations

The Peoria City Council will meet on Tuesday regarding two issues during its executive session and then convene at 7 p.m., for its regular public meeting.

During the executive session legal counsel and staff will discuss labor negotiations with Peoria Police Supervisors Association and United Phoenix Fire Fighters Association Local 493 regarding salaries, salary schedules or compensation paid in the form of fringe benefits of employees of the public body.

They will also discus the status of the city’s operating agreement with BioAccel, a local bio-incubator.

The executive session is closed to the public.

Topics during the regular council meeting include: council board and commissions subcommittee appointments, improvements to the security of the City Hall complex, and a report on updates to the P83 Entertainment District.
