Billings Senior’s Dawson LaRance, Kalispell’s Annie Hill at Simplot Games
POCATELLO, Idaho – Dawson LaRance, who had the fastest 800 qualifying time, followed through on that run to with the event finals of the Simplot Games on Saturday.
LaRance, a senior at Billings Senior, won in a time of 1:54.60. He shave .13 of a second off Friday’s top qualifying time of 1:54.73.
Kalispell Glacier’s Annie Hill was a winner, as well. She won the 3,200 in 10.44.21, edging Bozeman’s Camila Noe, who ran 10.44.51.
Other Montana boys who finished in the top 6 of their events include Baker’s Cleet Wrzesinski (second, 60 hurdles, 8.27), Sidney’s Garrison Hughes (second, pole vault, 15-9), Bozeman’s Jacob Grinwis (third, 800, 1:55.86), Billings West’s Blade Miller (sixth, shot put, 54-8).
Montana girls who placed in the top six include Bozeman’s Delaney Bahn (third, high jump, 5-7) and Camille Landon (fifth, high jump, 5-5) and Billings West’s Katrina Terry (Tfifth, pole vault, 11-0).
The Simplot Games is the nation’s top high school indoor track and field events. More than 2,200 athletes participate from the United States, Canada and Australia.
