Freezing rain, snow making travel difficult; most schools closed

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Freezing rain and snow have created a slow go on the roadsthis morning - and most schools are again closed.

While the sub-zero temperatures have finally rebounded, the current temperature is hovering around freezing, leading to ice on sidewalks, driveways, roads and vehicles.

A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 1 p.m., according to AccuWeather. The forecast calls for mixed precipitation and one to three inches of snow.

The morning commute is moving slowly as roads are slushy and slick. Many delays are expected. Speed reductions are in effect on Interstate 90 in Lake County. Check OhGo.com for updates.

Hundreds of schools are again closed, after closing last week during single-digit temperatures.

ODOT is fully staffed in Cuyahoga, Lake and Geauga counties to battle the wintry mix in NEO this morning. Check out conditions on OHGO before you hit the road! #OHGO https://t.co/mWQKwtiCtt— ODOT Cleveland (@ODOT_Cleveland) January 8, 2018
