Dallas Cowboys’ Dan Bailey leaves Sunday game with groin injury, safety Jeff Heath handles kicking duties
SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Dallas Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey exited Sunday’s 40-10 win over the the San Francisco 49ers because of a right groin injury, leaving the kicking duties to safety Jeff Heath.
Bailey appeared to aggravate the injury in a first-quarter kickoff return. After Jason Witten’s one-handed touchdown catch, the Cowboys went for a two-point conversion that failed, leaving them with a 20-3 lead in the second quarter.
“We’ll see how [Bailey] is tomorrow and we’ll make some decisions accordingly,” Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett.
