Burlington Police Hunting for Armed Carjackers
BURLINGTON -- Police are investigating an armed carjacking in the parking lot of the Beacon Village apartments on Monday night.
The victim was not injured, according to a press release from John Guilfoil Public Relations on behalf of the Burlington Police Department.
Police responded to 26 Beacon St., in the apartment community’s parking lot around 7:23 p.m., where they met a “visibly shaken male,” the release states.
The man said he had just pulled into his parking space and was checking his email on his phone, when the driver’s side door opened. A gun was put to his chest and he was forced out of the vehicle.
“The victim reported that three black men in their late teens or early 20s got into the vehicle, with the gunman getting into the driver’s seat,” the release states.
The victim’s keys, wallet and phone were stolen. The suspects then fled in the victim’s 2018 Audi A4 sedan, Massachusetts license plate 8GW848.
“This was a brazen, violent and unprovoked attack on an innocent resident,” said Burlington Police Chief Michael Kent. “These types of acts are not common in our community and we have no tolerance for them. We will fully investigate this crime and hope to find those responsible and bring them to justice.”
Anyone with information should contact the Burlington Police Department at 781-272-1212.
