Literary Corner makes debut on Daily News website
A new online feature designed to appeal to those who like to read — and write — poetry, prose and short stories kicks off Friday on the Daily News’ website.
The Literary Corner is designed to spur on and celebrate the creative writing talent among residents of Northeast and North Central Nebraska.
Each Friday, beginning this week, online users can check out the latest submissions from fellow local and area residents.
For those interesting in submitting their work for online publication, here are the guidelines to govern The Literary Corner:
— Original poetry, prose and short fiction submissions are accepted. Short fiction submissions are limited to no more than 3,000 words.
— All submissions must be made via email to email@example.com.
— All content must be suitable for readers for all ages. The Daily News reserves the right to not publish submissions that are deemed unsuitable.
— A writer is restricted to no more than one submission per month.
— A writer must include his or her name and complete contact information as part of the submission.
— Submissions must be original and the property of the author.
— A person submitting someone else’s work for publication must include written permission from the author to do so.
— Submissions are restricted to residents of Northeast and North Central Nebraska or those who previously lived here or with a connection to the northeast corner of the state.
— Anyone with questions can email them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
