Needles man arrested on aggravated Assault on an officer charge
A Needles man was arrested April 2 on two counts of aggravated assault on an officer, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Deputies were dispatched to a Fort Mohave business due to reports of a man attempting to fight with other customers. The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Rocco Jackson, appeared to be heavily intoxicated when deputies spoke to him, the report said. A search of Jackson’s person allegedly yielded a glass smoking pipe, and a records check showed that there was an active warrant for his arrest.
When they reached the patrol vehicle, deputies said, Jackson struck his head against the patrol vehicle, and shouting to bystanders that deputies were assaulting him. Jackson was placed on a sidewalk, and awaited a transport van to take him into custody. As they waited, the report said, Jackson struck his head against the asphalt, spit at deputies and verbally threatened them.
Jackson was placed into the van when it arrived, at which point deputies say he struck a deputy in his groin and leg with his head. Jackson was arrested and booked into Mohave County Jail.
