for King & Country: Christian-music hitmakers rock Stamford Palace

March 25, 2019

The two-time Grammy Award-winning pop-rock Christian duo for King & Country’s “burn the ships” world tour is docking at Stamford’s Palace Theatre Thursday, March 28.

Austrailian brothers Luke Smallbone and older brother Joel, backed by a percussion-driven band, will perform music from their third studio album, “burn the ships,” featuring the uplifting track “God Only Knows’ and the infectious anthem “joy,” as well as previous hits like “Fix My Eyes,” “Shoulders” and “Priceless,” in a highly theatrical, inspirational and laser/LED video wall-filled concert.

“God Only Knows,” their latest single, has cracked the top 10 on the Billboard Hot Christian chart and is quickly approaching an impressive 20 million total on demand streams. Luke Smallbone recently discussed the wide-reaching effect of the song’s message of hope and understanding with broadwayworld.com.

“I had a moment on stage during our show at the Sydney Opera House, remembering all the time we’ve put into writing these songs,” he said. “I took out my in-ear monitor, took a step back and just went ‘Wow!’ To know that a song we wrote can communicate with people so deeply, especially in our home city, is one of the great privileges we get out of playing music.”

The Palace Theatre, 61 Atlantic St. Stamford. Thursday, March 28, 7 p.m. $100-$25. 203-325-4466.
