Police fatally shoot man in north Seattle after traffic stop
SEATTLE (AP) — Authorities say a police officer fatally shot a man in north Seattle after they say the man pulled a gun during a traffic stop.
Seattle police say the officer made the stop on Aurora Avenue North at about 5 p.m. Monday and that the driver jumped out of the vehicle and ran.
Police say the officer chased the man, caught up to him and that the two struggled.
Police say the officer shot the man when the man produced a handgun.
The man, believed to be in his 30s, died at the scene.
Authorities are investigating and Aurora Avenue was closed from 95th to 98th.
