Musical acts revealed for 2019 Dodge County Fair
This year’s acts for the Dodge County Fair were revealed this weekend, highlighted by a pair of classic rock bands, a classic country band and an up-and-coming act out of Nashville.
The fair’s shareholders received updates on the progress of the 2019 fair at a meeting at Bayside Supper Club on Saturday. This year, the fair will run Aug. 14-18.
The Badger State Tractor Pullers will stage a pull on that first Wednesday.
On Thursday, country band Sawyer Brown will perform. The band, formed in 1981 in Florida, has hit the top of the country charts three times with “Step that Step,” “Some Girls Do,” and “Thank God For You” and has three albums that have been certified gold with at least 500,000 copies sold.
On Friday, the country band Lanco will perform. Based out of Nashville, the band’s song “ Greatest Love Story “ hit No. 1 on the country chart in 2017.
On Saturday, two rock bands will perform: Great White and Slaughter.
Great White, formed in Los Angeles, is best known for its 1989 cover of “Once Bitten, Twice Shy.” The band performing at the Dodge County Fair will be the original Great White; the band’s lead singer from its heyday, Jack Russell, left in 2009 and now tours separately with “Jack Russell’s Great White.”
Slaughter was formed in Las Vegas and is best known for its hit “Fly to the Angels” off the the album “Stick it to Ya” from 1990.
On Sunday, there will be a demolition derby, a tractor pull and a truck pull.
One-day tickets for the fair will be $7 before noon and $10 after noon. Season tickets will be $27 purchased before Aug. 14 and $35 after.
Last year’s headlining Saturday concert performers were Grand Funk Railroad and Foghat.
