Donations to be accepted for Bridgeport food banks
BRIDGEPORT — City residents will have the chance to donate to the city’s annual food and household goods drive this week.
The city is hosting a fill-a-public works truck during National Public Works Week, which runs from May 20 to May 26.
The city’s Department of Public Facilities is joining Public Works Departments from across New England to collect foods and household goods to support local community food banks.
Donations being accepted include diapers, toiletries, snacks, juice boxes, baby food and cereal.
Residents can drop off donations form 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the government center at 999 Broad St. Donations will also be accepted on Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Stop & SHop at 2145 Fairfield Ave.
