Laurel, Belgrade split Legion doubleheader

BELGRADE -- Laurel jumped out to a seven-run lead and held on to beat Belgrade 14-9 in American Legion baseball on Saturday.

The Dodgers made the most of their 10 hits, getting three RBIs from Cameron Schriver and two each from Kanyin Moran and Seth Green.

Aden White drove in three runs for Belgrade.

The host Bandits bounced back in the nightcap in beating the Dodgers 12-2 in five innings. Colten Charnholm led Belgrade’s 10-hit attack with three hits, including a double.

White pitched all five innings, allowing seven hits and striking out three.

Laurel’s Noah Gunther and Chase Feller were responsible for two hits apiece.
