Former Gering man killed in Saturday crash at Henry
The Nebraska State Patrol and other agencies investigated a fatal crash in Henry Saturday night.
The Nebraska State Patrol said Kelsey Komarek, 27, of Denver, died in the crash at Highway 26 and Nichols Avenue after his vehicle left the roadway, striking the building, at about 10:02 p.m. Komarek was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.
Komarek is a 2010 Gering High School graduate and the son of Kelly and Jennifer Komarek.
The building struck was located on the northeast corner of Nichols Avenue and the building is not apparently in active use as gas service had been shut off to the building.
Komarek died on scene. Morrill Fire Department responded and the Scotts Bluff County Attorney’s Office was also involved in the investigation.
Henry is about 24 miles west of Scottsbluff.
