Swimming coach Bill Peak dead at 51
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) _ Bill Peak, a nationally known swimming coach who helped Mary T. Meagher set two world records in the butterfly in 1981, has died following a bout with cancer. He was 51.
Peak, who died Monday at his home in Orlando, Fla., coached Louisville’s Lakeside Swim Club in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
He left Lakeside in 1984 for the Old Dominion Aquatic Club in Norfolk, Va., and moved to Orlando in 1993 to coach the Trinity Aquatics Club.
