Pump makers merge in Monroe, Old Saybrook
A private equity investment firm is creating a new company called Industrial Flow Solutions from recent acquisitions Stancor in Monroe and BJM Pumps in Old Saybrook, both making submersible pumps for varying industries.
Chicago-based May River Capital acquired Stancor from Knox Capital Holdings, having bought out BJM in 2017. Stancor CEO Bill Tipton will lead the new holding company.
Stancor has its main office on Fan Hill Road in Monroe with a manufacturing plant in Prospect. The company’s pumps were used in the construction of the new Tappan Zee bridge in New York, drawing water from the Hudson River to cure concrete used for the span’s foundation.
