New stand-up comedy venue at Fairfield’s Circle Inn

The Fairfield Comedy Club, a new venue for weekly shows by an array of stand-up comics, opens Saturday, April 29, at the Circle Inn in Fairfield.Shows will be presented every Saturday night, the club announced.“The club will be welcoming an array of comics you’ve seen on HBO, Netflix, Comedy Central, MTV and more. The Fairfield Comedy Club is a partnership venture of the Circle Inn, the New York Comedy Club” and Connecticut-based standup comics, the club said in its announcement.The opening night showcase will feature Mike Lebovitz, Beecher and Joe Gerics. Patrons may bring their own refreshments.According to the club, Lebovitz, based in New York, won the 2013 Montreux Comedy Fest in Switzerland. In 2015 he appeared on Season 9 of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing.” Beecher is described as a New Haven-based comic who has performed in the Brooklyn and Boston Comedy Festivals, and won the Connecticut Comedy Festival. He was a contributing performer for the off-Broadway “NEWSical the Musical.”Gerics recently returned to Connecticut following a decade in New York. A founder of the Fairfield Comedy Club, the performer said he has “produced countless standup comedy shows in New York, including founding and producing the annual Free Standup Festival, a weeklong showcase of some of New York’s best free comedy shows.”
