Speeding Mercedes on I-84 leads to Bridgeport man’s drug bust
NEWTOWN - State police from Troop A in Southbury arrested a Bridgeport man Saturday on drug charges as they were conducting seat belt enforcement, officials said.
Christian Enrique Cedillos, 22, of Bridgeport, seen speeding in a a silver Mercedes near the Exit 11 off-ramp on Interstate 84 in Newtown Saturday evening as troopers were conducting a seat belt enforcement operation, state police said.
He initially didn’t stop when troopers tried to pull him over, state police said. But when he did, the troopers discovered he was in possession of a “large amount of marijuana” and drug paraphernalia, reports said.
He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, disobeying the signal of an officer and traveling unreasonably fast.
Cedillos was released on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Danbury Superior Court on April 30.
