December 29, 2017 GMT

Robert W. “Bob” Patterson, age 85, died early Christmas morning at his home at Charter House.

Born in Austin, to Alfred G. and Maurine (Crowley) Patterson, Bob graduated from Pacelli High School in 1950, received his bachelors from the University of Notre Dame in 1954, and his law degree from the St. Paul College of Law (now Mitchell Hamline) in 1958.

He and Marge (Marek) were married in 1959, and moved to Rochester in 1961, when he joined the Dingle & Krieger law firm. Over the years, he practiced law with Louis Ohly and later formed a partnership with George Restovich and Kevin Lund.

He was an avid golfer, active in the JayCees, and a longtime member of St. John’s Catholic Church.

He is survived by his three children, Anne of Annandale, Va., Sue of Minneapolis, and Thomas (Kelly) of Rochester; and four grandchildren, Chris, Laura, Steve and Mike. His wife, Marge, died in 1998. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Gerry and his sister, Shirley.

A private memorial will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials may be made in Bob’s name to Lourdes High School in Rochester.
