Nashoba Valley Hospital’s President Dropping the “interim”

April 2, 2019 GMT

AYER -- Korry Dow will stick around the Nashoba Valley Medical Center for a little bit longer in a more permanent position.

The hospital announced on March 29 that Dow was appointed as president of the center. Dow was originally appointed as interim president in August 2018, taking over for then-president Sal Perla who went to work for Norwood Hospital.

“I am looking forward to building relationships and getting to know Nashoba’s patients, residents and community leaders,” Dow said in a press release. “Having served as interim president and having worked with NVMC’s finance department for more than ten years, I am already familiar with the special care our hospital provides and am inspired by how our highly-skilled medical team touches so many lives in our community on a daily basis.”

Dow indeed has financial experience on her resume as the hospital’s former chief financial officer. She started as a Medicare auditor for Blue Cross & Blue Shield in Boston before working as a reimbursement analyst for Boston Medical Center. She then spent eight years working as a senior accountant at Emerson Hospital in Concord.

“We are very pleased to have Korry serving as president of Nashoba Valley Medical Center,” John Pierro, chief operating officer of the northeast division of Steward Health Care’s Hospital Services Group, said in a press release. “Her strengths in operational performance, expense management and physician collaboration to develop programs and service lines make Korry the ideal person to lead the hospital into its next phase of growth.”

Dow declined to be interviewed this week.
