Police: Delivery truck damages Vermont covered bridge
LYNDON, Vt. (AP) — Police say a covered bridge is closed in a northeastern Vermont town after a delivery truck caused significant damage to the structure.
The Lyndonville police chief announced Thursday that the Miller’s Run Bridge was closed to motor vehicle and pedestrian traffic until further notice.
The Caledonian Record reports that the delivery truck that passed over the bridge was 12-feet-4-inches high while the clearance on the bridge is 11 feet, 9 inches.
Police are investigating the damage.
