Hewlett-Packard Co., down $1.43 at $15.25

The computer company’s president, Michael Capellas, quit after The Wall Street Journal reported he is a leading candidate to take over as CEO of WorldCom Inc.

UAL Corp., up 28 cents at $3.56

The parent of United Airlines reached a tentative wage concession agreement with its flight attendants.

The May Department Stores, down 19 cents at $22.29

The department store reported third-quarter earnings that missed Wall Street’s expectations by 2 cents a share.


Oracle Corp., down 40 cents at $9.15

Deutsche Bank Securities downgraded the technology company’s stock from ``buy″ to ``hold″.

Nash Finch Co., down $3.53 at $8.50

The wholesale distributor said the Securities and Exchange Commission began an informal inquiry into the way it handled promotional allowances from vendors, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Celeritek Inc., down $1.64 at $5.40

The maker of integrated circuits cut its revenue estimates for the third quarter after Motorola Inc. a major buyer of its products, decided to discontinue its strategy of dual sourcing of the modules.
