An 82-year-old woman died and two other people were injured in a two-vehicle crash near Upland in south-central Nebraska.
The Franklin County Attorney’s Office said the crash occurred Tuesday around 4 p.m. about a half-mile north of the intersection of Nebraska Highways 10 and 4 southwest of Upland.
Authorities said Delna Wempen of Minden died in the crash. The County Attorney’s Office said an autopsy indicated that Wempen, who was a passenger in a Dodge Ram pickup truck, died of blunt-force trauma.
A grandson, Jacob Wempen, 20, also of Minden, who was driving the pickup truck, was injured in the crash and he was taken to a hospital, the County Attorney’s Office said. He was treated for his injuries and released, authorities said.
Charles Fisher, 48, of Esbon, Kansas, who was driving a Dodge Charger, remained hospitalized Thursday with serious injuries, the County Attorney’s Office said. Esbon is southeast of Franklin County just across the Nebraska border.
