1. ILLINOIS (9-5)
(Last week: No. 3)
Coming off final examinations, the Illini had a week to prepare for Mizzou. They used that time well and scored a hallmark victory that helped establish Underwood’s regime. Guard Trent Frazier hit a pair of three-point bombs in the final minute of the first half, giving Illinois an insurmountable 42-22 lead at the break. Dagger! The Illini struggled offensively during the second half, but they held off the Tigers by remaining relentless at the defensive end.
