2 people killed, another injured in Maryland car crash
COLUMBIA, Md. (AP) — Two people in a car were killed early Sunday and a third was critically injured when the vehicle struck a tree in the median of a Maryland road, authorities said.
Eric Mutilu, 27, and Ali Mursal Ali, 26, both of Columbia, were pronounced dead at the scene of the 2:30 a.m. accident, Howard County police said in a news release. They were the driver and rear passenger in the Mazda.
The front passenger, identified as Jovan Roberts, 25, of Baltimore, was in critical condition Sunday at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, according to police.
Police said they don’t know the reason why the vehicle entered the median on Snowden River Parkway, but a preliminary review found speed was a factor in the accident.
