Police: Woman beat McDonald’s manager over ketchup

November 29, 2018

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — A California woman who police say pushed, punched and choked a McDonald’s manager because she wanted ketchup has pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor battery.

City News Service reports Mayra Berenice Gallo was released on her own recognizance after entering her plea Thursday.

Investigators in Santa Ana say the assault took place late on Oct. 27 when a drive-thru customer entered the restaurant through an employee door and asked for the condiment. Video released by police shows a woman attacking the manager after she was told she could not be in the building.

The 24-year-old Gallo was arrested Tuesday. She is due back in court Dec. 7 for a pretrial hearing.
