State police: 2 dead in house fire in Hudson Valley town

MONROE, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say two people have died in a house fire in a Hudson Valley town.

A New York State Police spokesman tells the Times Herald-Record of Middletown that the fire was reported around 3 a.m. Tuesday in the Orange County town of Monroe, 45 miles (72 kilometers) northwest of New York City.

Troopers say two people were found dead in the house, which was engulfed by fire when emergency crews from several communities arrived.

No other details are available.
