Girls’ basketball: Clear Springs finishes 24-6A unbeaten
Clear Springs culminated a perfect 14-game run through the District 24-6A girls’ basketball race with a 72-35 win over Clear Brook Tuesday night in the Charger gym.
Dymond Gladney scored 16 points, Taylor Singleton finished with 12 and McKenna Worrell added 10 for the Lady Chargers, who will play the No. 4 seed from District 23-6A in the bi-district round of the playoffs.
Clear Lake won its 30th game of the season and finished 12-2 in district with victory over Friendswood Tuesday night. The Lady Falcons will likely take on Alief Hastings in bi-district.
Clear Creek slipped past Dickinson, 41-32, rallying from a 10-5 first-quarter deficit to secure the win. Kyndal Johnson led Creek with seven points. The Lady Wildcats are a No. 3 seed and will likely play Alief Elsik in bi-district.
Alvin held a 16-6 halftime lead on Clear Falls before eventually taking a 40-28 victory to earn the No. 4 seed from District 24-6A. The Lady Yellowjackets will battle Pearland in the first round of the playoffs.
