Report: Tigers to lose defensive analyst Neal Renna to Eastern Illinois

Neal Renna, who served as Missouri football’s defensive quality control analyst, is leaving the program to to become the safeties coach at Eastern Illinois University, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Renna will join new EIU coach Adam Cushing’s staff in Charleston, IL, the Tribune reported. Cushing, who had been the offensive line coach at Northwestern, was recently hired to replace Kim Dameron at EIU, a Football Championship Subdivision team. Before he arrived in Columbia, Renna worked in recruiting at Northwestern.

In addition to coaching the safeties at Eastern Illinois, Renna will be responsible for recruiting the south suburbs of Chicago, according to the Tribune. His hometown is Lockport, IL.
