With the Houndify integration, drivers will be able to perform a variety of tasks simply by speaking naturally, including: finding nearby restaurants and businesses, adjusting temperature and air conditioning, launching connected services, and more. Language roll-out plans are being developed to make available globally. Groupe PSA is focused on innovating to meet customer needs, through connectivity and autonomy, and enhancing the driving experience.

“We are thrilled to bring our world class Houndify voice AI technology to the PSA family of cars,” said Keyvan Mohajer, co-founder and CEO, SoundHound Inc. “Groupe PSA is at the forefront of innovation in the automotive industry, envisioning a future where the Houndify platform can power a safer and more intuitive driving experience.”

“We believe that innovation is the cornerstone of value creation and, for Groupe PSA, this means bringing original and indispensable vehicle features to drivers and passengers,” said Carla Gohin, Senior Vice President Research and Innovation, Groupe PSA. “The driver experience in our connected cars of the future will harness the unique technologies that SoundHound Inc. provides, including natural, conversational language understanding and the ability to process natively, ensuring in-car well-being and driving pleasure.”

Houndify is the first independent AI platform that enables developers and business owners to deploy a conversational interface anywhere and retain control of their brand and users, while differentiating and innovating. Houndify provides all the technology ingredients necessary for voice and AI integration, including the world’s fastest speech recognition, the most sophisticated natural language understanding, easy to use developer tools, knowledge graphs, and a large and rapidly growing number of domains. Domains are programs that provide a natural and fully conversational interface on specific topics, without requiring the users to memorize and use the specific phrasing of hard coded commands or skills.

Houndify technologies represent more than a decade of R&D and innovation by SoundHound Inc., resulting in significant and unique advantages. Key advantages include SoundHound Inc.’s patented Speech-to-Meaning™ and Deep Meaning Understanding™ technologies, which deliver unprecedented speed and accuracy in voice recognition and responses, and the ability to understand context, such as the user’s location or previous queries, to support natural interactions.

More than 60,000 partners have registered on the Houndify platform since its launch in December 2015, and more than 1,000 distinct products are being Houndified. In May 2018, SoundHound announced an alliance with a group of strategic investors, with a combined reach of over 2 billion users globally.
