Steven W. Wilson, 62, of Donnellson, passed away at 6:45 a.m. Monday, April 17, 2017, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.
He was born Nov. 11, 1954 in Keokuk, the son of Edwin Wade and Albertine Louise (Hirschler) Wilson. On Oct. 22, 1987, he married Arlene Marshall in Donnellson.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene; two sons, Jason Wilson of Ames and Matthew (Jessica) Wilson of Donnellson; one daughter, Jennifer Madden of Donnellson; three brothers, Don (Jan) Wilson of Sarasota, Fla., Terry (D’Ete) Wilson of Donnellson and Glenn (Penny) Wilson of Donnellson; and one sister, Sandra (Randy) Meierotto of Donnellson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Wilson; his mother, Albertine Wilson Grossman; two brothers, Harvey and Marlin Wilson; and one niece, Nicole.
Steve was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Donnellson. He was a 1972 graduate of Central Lee High School. Steve worked at Mount Pleasant Corrections and was a member of Iowa Council 61 AFSCME.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, John Deere Tractors, riding his Harley Davidson, spending time in the timber, and making wine. He also enjoyed helping people with anything they asked and spending time with his family.
Friends may call after 12 p.m. noon, Friday, April 21, at Schmitz Funeral Home in Donnellson. The family will receive friends 4-7 p.m. that evening.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 22, at Schmitz Funeral Home in Donnellson, with Reverend Bob Molsberry officiating.
Following the service, his body will be cremated.
Burial will be held at the Evangelical Cemetery in Donnellson, Iowa at a later date.
A memorial has been established for the Steve Wilson Central Lee FFA Scholarship.
