April 12, 2019 GMT

POCATELLO — The family of a 22-year-old man whose body was discovered Tuesday near the City Creek trail is seeking the public’s help in covering his funeral expenses.

Ariel Fernando Arellano was reported missing by his family on April 3. His body was discovered by a jogger.

His family has set launched a gofundme campaign — https://www.gofundme.com/paying-tribute-to-nando — to help cover his funeral costs. The campaign reported having $160 toward a $10,000 goal as of Thursday night.

The Bannock County coroner has ordered investigation of the cause of death and reported seeing no obvious external signs of trauma.

The family wrote on its gofundme posting: “At this time, as the family struggles emotionally and financially with the task of laying a second son to rest, we are asking for support from any kind heart willing to reach out. Your support, however big or small, is greatly appreciated and will go directly towards Nando’s final expenses. If you are unable to donate, please share. Much love to you all.”
