Taylor-made Victory for Lowell Catholic Over Gr. Lowell

Sophomore point guard Isaiah Taylor had a monster night, finishing with 23 points, 8 assists, 9 rebounds and 5 steals to lead host Lowell Catholic to a 77-55 victory over Greater Lowell Tech.

The win qualified the Crusaders (10-4) to qualify for the Division 4 North sectional tournament.

Besides Taylor, three other LC players also had outstanding games. Sophomore Keenan Rudy-Phol finished with 13 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists, sophomore Jeceb McKenzie had 15 points and 5 steals, and junior Caleb Scott had 8 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks.

For Greater Lowell (11-4), Paul Choate led the team with 18 points, while Luis Huertas added 13 and Jacob Burk finished with 9.

Rae Callahan scored 12 points to lead the Patriots to the victory on their home court in Townsend.

Katie Kleeman and Joanna Chase each had 8 points in the win.

Wachusett 49

Westford 37

In a matchup of teams who normally meet late in state tournament action, undefeated Wachusett prevailed over the Grey Ghosts at home.

Westford (10-3) was led by senior guard Carolyn Graham, who scored 12 points.

Junior guard Ally Giovino added 7 points and 3 steals, senior forward Morgan Rose contributed 8 points and 8 rebounds, and senior guard Brooke Pillsbury claimed 6 points, 9 rebounds and 3 steals.
