Civil War group looks to the West

March 8, 2017

Civil War battles in the western expanses of the United States will be the topic of the next meeting of the Rochester Civil War Round Table at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the History Center of Olmsted County, 1195 West Circle Drive SW, Rochester.

Speaker George Romano will describe how the war played out in the desert southwest, which had been U.S. territory when the war began. Part of the territory seceded from the Union and became Confederate Arizona. The region was the site of the western-most battles of the Civil War.

Admission is a freewill donation.
